Introduction to the PhD Program in Computer Science
The PhD Program in Computer Science at Ton Duc Thang University aims to train scientists and experts capable of conducting independent and innovative research, as well as leading technological directions in the era of artificial intelligence.
The program’s coursework and research activities focus intensively on key areas such as artificial intelligence, deep learning, large language models (LLMs), multimodal foundation models for natural language processing, computer vision, and data science. Doctoral candidates are guided to develop critical thinking skills, formulate research problems, build models, conduct experiments, and publish research outcomes in prestigious international scientific venues.
The program is led by a team of professors, associate professors, and PhD holders with outstanding research capabilities. Many of them serve as principal investigators of national-level research projects, are involved in international collaborations, and have published extensively in SCI/SCIE-indexed journals. In addition, doctoral candidates receive support from a network of international experts from partner universities and research institutes, along with access to modern laboratory facilities at the Faculty of Information Technology, Ton Duc Thang University, including the Natural Language Processing and Knowledge Discovery Lab, the Artificial Intelligence Lab, and the Data Science Lab.
