TDTU Scholarship for International Students in the 2024-2025 Academic Year

ABOUT TON DUC THANG UNIVERSITY AND TDTU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

Ton Duc Thang University founded in 1997, describes itself as a young, aspiring and dynamically growing higher education institution in the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City and has been known as a successful example of autonomy practice among public universities in the country.

So far, TDTU has been the first representative of Vietnam to be ranked in the Top 500 best universities in the world according to THE World University Rankings. Besides, TDTU is one of the five universities of Vietnam accredited by The High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCÉRES). Besides, TDTU Education Quality is also recognized by other international accreditations (e.g. AUN-QA, FIBAA).

Annually, TDTU offer various types of scholarships to encourage international students to study at the University. These scholarship programs usually have different eligibility requirements, application processes, and benefits. In order to find the right scholarship program for you, it's important to do your research and understand the requirements of each scholarship. So let's dive in to the details of the scholarship programs for the 2024-2025 Academic Year

 

DETAILS OF TDTU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

1. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH

1.1 DETAILS: 

  • Type: from Partial to Full Scholarships (according to applicant's academic performance and language proficiency performance)
  • Study level: Undergraduate

  • Majors: 12 Majors. See details of study majors at here
  • Study language: English

1.2 DURATION: 

04-05 years (according to majors)

1.3 INCLUSIONS

For full scholarship

  • 100% Tuition fee for undergraduate program (not include tuition fee for the courses that students study for the second time)
  • 100% Dormitory fee

For partial scholarship

  • 50-75% Tuition fee for undergraduate program (not include tuition fee for the courses that students study for the second time)
  • 100% Dormitory fee

1.4 SCHOLARSHIP RETENTION REQUIREMENTS

The scholarship will be renewed each Academic Year if students meet the retention criteria as follows

  • During undergraduate study, GPA of previous Academic Year is not below 6.0

 

2. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS TAUGHT IN VIETNAMESE

2.1 DETAILS: 

  • Type: from Partial to Full Scholarships (according to applicant's academic performance and language proficiency performance)
  • Study level: Undergraduate
  • Majors: 40 majors. Scholarships are not applied for the major of Vietnamese Studies - Vietnamese language, Culture & Society. See details of study majors at here
  • Study language: Vietnamese

2.2 DURATION: 

  • 01 year compulsory for Vietnamese language (if the applicants do not have B2 Vietnamese language proficiency certificate);
  • 04-05 years for undergraduate program (according to majors).

2.3 INCLUSIONS

For full scholarship

  • 100% Tuition fee for Vietnamese language class (not include tuition fee for the Vietnamese language class in the second time study)
  • 100% Tuition fee for undergraduate program (not include tuition fee for the courses that students study for the second time)
  • 100% Dormitory fee

For partial scholarship

  • 100% Tuition fee for Vietnamese language class (not include tuition fee for the Vietnamese language class in the second time study)
  • 50-75% Tuition fee for undergraduate program (not include tuition fee for the courses that students study for the second time)
  • 100% Dormitory fee

2.4 SCHOLARSHIP RETENTION REQUIREMENTS

The scholarship will be renewed each Academic Year if students meet the retention criteria as follows

  • Pass the Vietnamese proficiency language class (at least B2 level) to enter the undergraduate program;
  • During undergraduate study, GPA of previous Academic Year is not below 5.0

 

3. ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

Academic requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (the graduation time must be in 20242023 and 2022); and,
  • Average GPA of High School Study or Average GPA of High School Graduation Exam is at least 5.0/10.

    Note:

  • For applicants from Myanmar, the High School Transcript is strictly required not the Matriculation Examination result (please click here to see the sample of required High School Transcript). 
  • The Matriculation Examination result is only accepted when applicants must have a Confirmation Form signed and stamped by the local authority/local Department of Education that applicants do not attend the High School Education. Please click here to see the sample of Confirmation Form.

Language proficiency requirement:

For Undergraduate programs taught in Vietnam:

  • Having an Vietnamese language proficiency test result/certificate at least B2 level
  • Or attending 01 year for Vietnamese language study at TDTU and pass the final Vietnamese language proficiency test at least B2 level (click here for details of Vietnamese language proficiency test).

For Undergraduate programs taught in English:

  • Citizens from a English native speaking country;,
  • Or having a valid IELTS at least 5.5 (or equivalent, click here to see equivalent certificates);

Addition requirements:

For Pharmacy major, applicants must have:

  • GPA of the final year of senior high school is marked as “Good” or above;
  • The average Chemistry score of the final year of senior high school or equivalence must be 7.0/10.0

For the major of Architecture, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, and Industrial Design, applicants are required to take the aptitude assessment test organized by TDTU before entering the Bachelor’s programs.

 

4. APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants follows this procedure guidelines for application.

Applicants prepare required documents (listed here) and send scan copy to email admission.undergraduate@tdtu.edu.vn.

Please note that:

  • An application is only considered as valid when sufficient and correct documents are submitted;
  • The International Admission Council will select the applicants with highest academic performances to offer the scholarships.

 

5. IMPORTANT MILESTONES

5.1 APPLICATION DEADLINES:

  • For September semester, application open from 08/04 to 15/07/2024;
  • For January semester, application open from 25/08 to 20/10/2024;

5.2 RESULT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Eligible applicants would be notified the result via email on:

  • For September 2024 semester, late August;
  • For January 2025 semester, late November.

Please note that:

  • If eligible applicants have had no response after 14 days since receiving result notification email, the scholarship result would be terminated and transferred to other applicants.
